Hi
My name is David and i'm from belgium as with our norwegian friend, i have basic knowledge of german but english is a lot easier for me.
i've bought my 1973 type 92 about 4 months ago but only recently had time to start working on it. The interior is out of the car except for the left door panel. The window lever is stuck really hard (going to try some WD40 next time i visit the shops)
there's a couple holes in the floor and the whole trunk floor will need to be redone. Also there are some spots which have been welded by a previous owner but need to be redone!
its a 1100(N) on paper but has a 1200S in it which will be replaced by a 1100 to be legal in belgium. Front drum brakes will be replaces by disc brakes off a 1200.
For exhaust i hope i can fit a GT standard exhaust with chrome tips but thats not sure yet (i think the GT exhaust isn't long enough for a kadett)
the picture are coming soon (making a page with most of them on it since i cant post em all at the same time here)
paint will probably be done like this:
but thats the last thing there is to be done so for now its just an idea. If i do it like this i might look for some LS trimming to go between the white and black on the C pillar.
Everything will be done on a students budget so dont expect a fully original vehicle. It will be made up for daily use, this is my first car

Hi David,
Welcome here to the Kadett B and Olympia A board!
Four months ago I`ve bought a '72 saloon in Belgium, too. It`s a saloon from Antwerpen which was built in Bochum - that`s funny I think. Another Kadett of mine, a '70 LS saloon, was built in Antwerpen but I`ve found it in France, fell in love with it and bought it. The Kadett B is a very international car...
Kind regards,
Rainer

You find them where you least expect them!
i was trying to look for the explanation of the fahrgestellnummer. if i'm not mistaken you can see exactly where it was built from that number, or am i wrong?
And Gert yup i'm here now too
as well as on the US GT forum which has alot of info on kadetts too

Hi Jinx,
if you tell the chassis number to the producer (third number 1, 2 or 3 is a Kadett from Bochum or Biel, third number 8 or 9 is a car from Antwerpen) he can tell you the date of production.
Your Coupé F should start with 92, then comes one of the numbers above, then the rest.
But it`s possible to tell you roundabout when your car was built when you tell the number here. I can work with chassis numbers from Bochum, but I`ve got problems to sort Antwerpen matches.
Another possibility is to look at he details of your car. Several things were changed in each model year so sometimes it is easy to see when a car was built when it`s original in its details.
Kind regards,
Rainer

the start is definatly 92 (hence the type 92.. learnt that from the US GT forum)
next number (i just checked) is a 3. So its a german built one
My car was first registerred in 1973 but i'm not sure if its an early 72 or late72/73 car.
some points which are of importance for this:
full chrome grill (instead of black/chrome)
black wiper arms
black 'einstiefleisten'
rear bumper's vertical bits are chrome with a rubber strip instead of a full rubber part
i'm not sure about some other things as i'm not entirely sure which is the correct translation to dutch or english. Or i'm not sure what it should look like. (as with the new opel lettering on the back like mantas)

I've been working alot on my car but haven't posted anything here recently. I made a leafspringcompressor and today i split the leafsprings from the crossmember with this as result:

More and bigger pictures can be found on my blog. Previous updates (which i havent posted here) can be found there too: http://jinx.koendd.be (its in dutch!)
