1969 opel kadett 1100 from norway
i am sorry, i write in english. my german is not so good, but i can understand much of it.
i have a 1969 opel kadett 1100 that my mothers uncle bought new and he used it until the late 80's, when he bought a ascona c. the kadett was put in a barn from about 1990 until 2005 when i got it. the car started without any problems and i even used all the gas left in the tank, when i was moving it around.
the car had rust in the floor in front and i had to change a lot of the bodyparts, because my mothers uncle didnt care so much about the looks. i recently had the car to the check-up we have to do every 2 years because of the EU and the only problems were more than 30% difference in the front brakes and another minor fault.
this is my first car to restore completely and i have done mostly everything myself, but the paintjob will be done profesionally.
i have all the chrome for the bottom of the doors and the wheel arches.
i also have a 310mm luisi steering wheel and lenk 50/30 springs for gt which i will install when i have got the car approved for road-use following the eu-directive. but i will use yellow koni both in the front and in the rear.
i installed a self-made 2" galvanized exhaust-system yesterday.
please, this is my first restoration and i also have learned to weld all by myself.
and i have also bought all new floorcarpets (teppich) for the car, which i have not recieved yet!

Hi Kammiz,
welcome to the board, it`s always nice to see that the Kadett B has friends in many countries!
You`ve done a good job I think
. If you ask which paint the car should have I`d say: Only the original one is the correct one
. But if you don`t like it you can have a look into the '69 colour program. Maybe there are other colours you prefer?
Kind regards,
Rainer

i dont like the red seats.. i have always liked black interiors the best.
i wonder if it is possible to get my paintcolor in a metallic version?
Geschrieben von LSman am 26.08.07 um 00.08:
Hi Kammiz,
yes, it is possible. For the '69 model the following metallic colours were available:
silver blue 230 (a very light blue)
silver 135 (more grey than silver)
gold 447
copper 507
monza blue 235 (can be seen more often on later Kadetts)
lind green 338 (a light green)
Kind regards,
Rainer

hi and welcome!
i like the metallic green (froschgrün), with black seats no problem ;)
the OPC blue looks also awesome (saw it in "real life")

i agree, the green is cool! but do you think a professional painter can make my mistral-beige into a metallic mistral-beige?

hhhm,
good question...
too bad, but i`m not a "professional" painter =)
(not even a painter...)
just ask a good one near to you.
to make the price a bit nicer for you u could offer him
help to cover the car.
cheers

50,5 wheelHP sounds good, but wich engine has the car?
What about the frame of the car? Are the bodyworks finished yet?
I would like the see more of the project, has he gt some more pictures for us?
