  price for asc-400 engine

what would i have to pay for a complete 400 engine if it is possible to get a hold of ? just wondering if it would be the same price as my 2,8 liter 4-syl engine (305,1bhp :r) ) because i maybe rather would swap the 2,8 for ar 400 engine in my next projekt.. anyone hwo knows the prices for these engines? confused

But doesn?t look nice in your wallet after buying one of these.... D:

The cheapest one I have heard of in last time was around 5000 Euros.

It was a complete ready-to-have-fun-phase1-2 engine with about 180-200hp.
The price was for friends only ;)

More horsepower for nearly the same price you get with a shortened 3.0 24 V Senator/Omega-Cylinderhead on a well made 4-Pack CIH Block.

The 400?s are very fragile and Parts everything else but cheap.
There are some owners of these engines that don?t run their cars more than 130 Km/h, because they?re afraid something would break down crazy .

Maybe you can ask there for prices : http://www.rissemotorsport.de/

or there: http://www.opel400club.de/

and this is maybe the best adress for building an undestroyable performance 400 engine: http://www.gerent-motorsport.de/
They build a 2.0 Liter CIH with 400head and 270hp. And it doesn?t blew up. I?ve never seen before a C-Kadett hunting an BMW M1 ProCar like this.... eek

Hope, this will help you a little bit...

yes it helps.. my present engine had a total cost of 120000nkr.. crazy (ca 14200euro) but it is the 400 engine who is the dream.. but if i cant use it hard and must drive it carefully, then it would be a ekspensive thing just standing in the garage... p.s i have a friend who has builded/cut a 24v top but he cant get hold of camsahfts for it..

14000 Euro... huh, thats a word.

For this money one the tuners that I?ve linked above would build you a 400 engine that doesn?t get up in smoke too early I think.
Just ask them. The webmaster on Opel 400 Club is a good engine builder. And a nice guy too. Maybe he can help you answering your questions more precisely.

But the biggest Problem would be to find a 400 engine/cylinderhead.
They?re rare and well searched.

Sure the 400 is THE dream. But I prefer it in an Ascona body :r)
A friend of mine owns one of these and he has enough parts to build a second one....

But, unfortunately this isn?t my price region. cry

Maybe someday...

Wish you luck for finding one.

Greets to Norway.

PS: Your A-Kadett Caravan is a real killer car! Top
