  Cilinder-head

Hello Kadett-friends, I'm Marcel from Holland and it's my first time on this forum. Because my German is very poor, hope that you don't mind my English.
Hope to learn much more about de Kadett, start right away with a question.
On top of cilinderhead (1100 SR 196cool near the exhaust is a number
2 866 112 ? I have doubts do I have the right cilinder-head for the 1100 SR, mayby the previous owner had chanched the head !
Can anyone tell me what the right number should be (or is this the right number), and perhaps also the numbers for a 1100 N and 1100 S in case I have to seek another head and so I know which one not to bye.

Walter,

  RE: Cilinder-head

I can't find any number on the cilinderhead, the only mark I can find is a big yellow painted dot (about 2 cm diameter).
So the only way to find out if it's a SR head for sure is to meassure ? What would be the height and where do I meassure, I believe the difference in height is only 0.5 mm.
How difficult will it be to get the right cilinderhead if I have the wrong SR- head ?
At the moment I'm trying to remove the valves but I have not the special tool to do this, what is the best way to I get them out without the special tool. Any tip is most welcome,

Marcel

Hello Walter,

You have been a great help, your English and explanation are perfect ! Will search for any number I can find and answer as soon as possible. The roto-caps have crossed my mind too, but first gonna buy me a special tool to remove them, many thanks

greetings Marcel.

  RE: Cilinder-head

I have inspected the enginehead as the engineblock for numbers signs.Starting with the head :

Close to Exhaust-side/ pessengerheating hose :
6A
69
H

Close to the Cooling-temperature sensor :
2 888 112
75

Inside de head, close to the valves :

There are no numbers, only a sort of a clock with the numbers 6, 9, 12, 15 in the position from a clock at resp. 12 ,3 ,6 and 9 hours. Between each number there are two marks, in de centre of the clock there is a stripe wich connects number 8 and 14.
Above the clock there is a dot

Engineblock :

Engine number = 11 SR 0079893

Below the exhaust :
2888 114
E8
10
33
13E70

And again a "clock" , but this time no numbers at all except like the other clock a dot in top.
In contrast to the other clock has this one only 10 marks and a stripe connecting 1 o'clock with 7 o'clock.

Hope you do understand the explenation for the clock,it's difficult to make it any clearer,

greeting Marcel

Hello Walter,

Your information helps me a great deal, I'm glad there is that much knowledge on this forum and from you ofcourse.
The valves do have roto-caps (a kind a bearing ? underneath the springs) and no stamped number on the head. So it must be an SR-head.
The manufracturer is not Adam like the German cars, but General Motors Continental Antwerpen. The car is sold in Maastricht (Holland) on 25 maart 1969, in the original hand-guide the motornumber and chassisnumber are written in it. So the engine block must be before that date and could be the same as the head-date : 06 jan 1969. The functions of the casting "clock" are still a mystery to me.
Want to thank you again for all your time you put into to help me with my question, and delighted to hear its an SR-head,

many greetings,

Marcel
